Who's looking forward to Windows 8 phones? will it save Nokia?

There's a few things I don't like in Windows 8, the lack of recent documents, but really not much probably the best operating system since Windows 2000. I am looking forward to trying a windows 8 phone and look forward to see what Nokia will do, but will Windows 8 be enough to save Nokia?

Where and when can users get Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 devices?

Yeah I would consider one but I would probably by a Japanese Windows phone as they are all waterproof and from what I know Nokia has moved all production offshore.

As to Windows, go to favourites and you should see a recent places shortcut, is that what you wanted?

Any idea on the companies from Japan that make the waterproof phones? Love one for camping.

Pretty much all of them, the JDM phones seem to be of higher quality than what the rest of the world gets, there are quite a few issues with getting either a Docomo or Softbank phone as a lot of the cheaper(older) models require a Hypersim to work outside Japan and often these won't allow all of the phones functions to work properly.

Even my Fujitsu phone takes a Microsim but I am still unable to send or recieve MMS's, I'm not too worried but friends seem to get angry that I don't reply to the messages I don't recieve.
Japan has taken on the Android platform big time and they seem to be adopting Windows 8 too which is good as Japanese phone manufacturers don't seem to adopt OS's that don't work(like all Windows Mobile software up to 7).
Fujitsu did release a phone that ran a full version of Windows 7 but also had a second OS for normal phone functionality.

    Fujitsu Introduces Windows® 7 F-07C Mobile Phone

A compact PC that fits in the palm of your hands

Tokyo, July 21, 2011 — Fujitsu today announced that the new Windows® 7 F-07C mobile phone will be available in Japan from NTT DOCOMO, Inc. beginning July 23, 2011.
The F-07C mobile phone, featuring Windows® 7(1), is the world's smallest PC(2) that fits into the palm of the user's hand.
F-07C comes standard with a two-year license for Microsoft® Office Personal 2010-an essential business tool-and other basic PC functionality, in addition to convenient mobile phone features such as Osaifu-Keitai. By combining both PC and mobile phone functionality, F-07C opens the door to a range of new uses.
    Background

F-07C is equipped with basic PC functionality, including Windows® 7, an Intel® Atom™ processor, a two-year Microsoft® Office Personal 2010 license, and the latest version of Windows® Internet Explorer® 9. Despite its compact form, users can fully use the F-07C as a PC.
With support for Osaifu-Keitai®, i-mode mail, i-concier®, and other services from Docomo, as well as security features like Omakase Lock®, the new mobile phone allows owners to take advantage of features that they are accustomed to using.
As users can switch between Windows® 7 PC mode and mobile phone mode with just the push of a button, they are able to access the mode of their choice at any time.

There are tough phones currently on the domestic market which include-
Motorola Defy XT- MOTOROLA DEFY XT - Water Resistant Dustproof Android Smartphone - Long Battery Life - Life Proof - Motorola Mobility LLC. Australia
Any of the Sonim phones- Welcome to Sonim Technologies - Maker of the World's Toughest Phones
There are more but the only other one I can remember is the Dick Smith floating phone-

I suppose I am a bit of a Fujitsu Fanboy but I only bought mine as they keep as much work in Japan(or Germany) as possible, I hate companies that just end up as marketing companies and don't actually make anything.
This is the new Fujitsu Win 8 Tablet, it will be expensive but up to 4GB of RAM with dedicated graphics and a 256GB SSD in a tablet is really surely a bit ahead of the competition- http://liliputing.com/2012/10/meet-t...-z-60-cpu.html

This is my Android phone going for a swim-

EDIT- Hmmm why can't I post those images properly? They bith end it BMP or JPG.

That looks like exactly what I want! I find touch screens unresponsive due to my shakes, so always try and get one with buttons and a keypad. I hope they get a Windows 8 one soon at a decent price, as the Samsung one I have sucks, the internet and text capabilities are good, but the microphone doesn't work and people on the other end keep saying "are you there?".

I had one call from a broadband company trying to sell me their services end up saying "I have to terminate this call as I can't hear you, please acknowledge that you understand." - UM!?
