Think Mobile Ultimate $39.95 plan, Unimited Calls, 4Gb

I sadly had to drop TPG who I had been with for a couple of years as the Optus reception in my area became unusable. TPG were amazing, easy to understand charges and tech support were amazing.

I tried to use RedBull mobile as they operate on the Vodafone network but my odd phone wouldn't recognise the SIM card, worked in an old phone just fine.

Now after all that I went with Think Mobile, and so far I am impressed. On the $39.95 BYO plan that I am on I get unlimited standard calls, texts, MMS's and 4Gb data for the one cost.

My first bill was over the $39.95 I was expecting but before yelling at someone I checked the FAQ's on their site and found they have set billing periods and I came in mid way through so I paid for a month and some days.

One great thing about Think is that the customer support is Aussie based and they seem to be quite helpful.

4GB of data on 3G is pretty good. Nice to see a company that offers aussie support!

One thing I've noticed is a lot of people use their data package around the house or where there's free wifi like Westfield shopping centres. The best thing to do is set your phone to use your wifi network at home and then sign up for all the free accounts out and about. Saves the hassle of massive data bills and is often quicker than 3G.

Here's the deal info for Think Mobile Ultimate $39.95 plan:

That is true Wi-Fi is the way to go for big files but for me my 3G download speed is often double that of my broadband. If I have good 3G reception I can download a 1Gb file in an hour when using my phone and would never happen over broadband.

Apologies for the vague posts, they are all done on my phone, so they won't be perfect.

That's a great deal, I'm after a big data package, I'd love more than 4GB if possible but it's a start! now may have to try and find a Samsung Galaxy 16GB at a good price up front and do that instead of a plan.

Yes the: Infinity & Beyond Super Value Plan - $45.00 per month looks like a good deal.

Have you had any problems with them?

Their reception(Optus) has become virtually unusable in Newcastle over the past two years, Vodafone(Think use their network) were always the worst for reception in Newcastle but they have invested a fortune into improving their network and it is really starting to show.

I would have loved to stay with TPG but not being able to receive calls at home was a major problem.

I know this thread is about Think Mobile, but I've just found the TPG coverage map for 2g: TPG Mobile Coverage and 3g: TPG Mobile Coverage

Shocked more areas around Canberra don't have 3g, I thought politicians took care of themselves first! Guess all their offices and houses are in the centre.
