My iPod just died, suggestions for new MP3 Player?

I've had my ipod since 2006 and it did well I just didn't like the way I couldn't plug it in to any computer and see what files were on it. I would like to find a new mp3 player that can do this and if there's one that runs windows 8 that'd be even better especially if there's a spotify app for Windows 8. That would make me very happy!

Do newer apple ones do this? Or do they keep you locked into itunes and not knowing your file names?

I’m not into mp3’s so I may not able to help you but try Sony’s. I have a friend using a Sony’s MP3 and she really loves it.

If you want to spend iPod money Sony do make a nice Android but they have been discontinued and Australia aren't getting the newer one.

However I just found the old model which runs Gingerbread, has a MASSIVE screen for an MP3 player has a Micro HDMI port(I think) which will output full HD video but sadly I just realised it has no card slot so you are stuck at 16GB.

Still it does a lot for the money and has manufacturers warranty.

    Wow Really?!

I seem to go through MP3 players like crazy, I have had six and one, maybe two still work. Most get broken while riding I seem to have a love for landing on them, my last one was a really nice Android powered Cowon unit, only got two months out of that before I squashed it

ouch! Oh I've got an ipod shuffle that I got back in 2003/04 that was rubbish, still works and holds a charge. But no screen and about the size for 6 albums so 400mb or so? hmmm was it really that small!? You could get real ipods with 30GB at that point.

Yes it will, it is Android so it is just drag drop or you could still use iTunes if you wanted to. Most of the apps that work on Android phones will work on the Sony player also with Android if you don't like an app you can get a refund if you uninstall it within 15 minutes.

I have used the Player Pro app in my last three Android devices and I find it fantastic however the stock music player in my Sony phone was OK but Player Pro is better it will locate HD images extra album info and you don't even need to be careful when adding albums as it tidies everything up it really is an amazing app! Long sentence.

When my laptop died recently I moved to a Windows 8 laptop and wanted to know if there are any mp3 players that run windows 8 that I could use? I like it more than my old apple setup.
