Party at my house! Ordered the LED Elfin Flower 1 from Maplin

Figured while my parents are over from Oz and staying with me in Edinburgh for a while I'd get my Dad an electrician putting up some lights for me and my wife wanted a Disco light so got one of these from Maplin:

LED Elfin Flower 1 : Effect Lighting : Maplin Electronics

they're only 30 which is about $48Au! Can't wait to see how it goes with some punk music, or xbox gaming!

    • Beat matching sound-to-light technology
    • Automatic effect changing when in standard mode
    • Equipped with special optical lens for maximum light output
    • 48 degree wide beam angle - Elfin flower performs the sharpest light beams
    • Adjustable audio sensitivity
    • Extremely long-life led light source (>20,000 hours LED life), no bother of replacing bulbs
    • Very low power consumption - energy saving
    • Long running - can be used 24 hours continuously
    • Totally cold light source without over-heating problems
    • Compact shape makes it easy to be installed in any location
    • Includes 15VDC / 230VAC power supply
    • Total power consumption: 4W

Give your gig, disco or party that extra professional touch with the LED Elfin Flower from Maplin.

The Elfin Flower light produces an array of brightly coloured light variations which can be triggered via the built in sound controller to respond with the beat of your music!

This fantastic lighting effect operates using high powered LEDs instead of the usual high power bulbs. This ensures that not only does the product perform excellently without consuming huge amounts of power but it will also last a lot longer as LEDs have a much longer life span compared to their filament based counterparts.

With low power consumption, a low price and high performance this led light is the perfect option for the budget conscious performer looking to get the most out of their lighting equipment.

got a bit worried the microphone wasn't in the box itself and you had to run a cable to an in-put, however this video says it does go to sound:

Wow, that looks pretty cool, I've never seen one where each LED is focused, I've only seen the colour change ones that light the whole room.

Also, I hope that isn't you in the video.

Definitely not me, and that vertical video is EXACTLY what I thought as I was watching it. I was actually planning on adding the say no to Vertical video one you posted.

Say No to Vertical videos! VVS!

Couldn't stand another version of Star Wars!

I do hope to do a few vlogging things for the site, but bought an actual HD video camera for that very purpose, just need to sort out storage space before I do anything.

Maybe we should go to square screens so we always get the same viewing area, maybe we need an app that tells people their phone isn't horizontal, there's a money maker!
