    Courtship display of the Coastal peacock spider (Maratus speciosus). This species inhabits coastal dune habitats near Perth in Western Australia. Filmed with Canon 60D and 100 mm macro lens.

    Rowan sent me that last night! Fantastic spider! Really have to get over to WA at some point, been a bit slack with that! Been to all the other states and territories, loved Tassie for the wildlife, just amazing place!

    Just when you think you have seen just about everything, nature throws up a surprise.

    Ive never seen normal spiders act in that way with arching their back.

    Never heard of it before or seen anything quite like it, other than the peacock of course!
