Any Cheap Easy To Use Video Editing Programs Out There?

A few friends have bought GoPro video cameras for riding and are all asking for recommendations on what software to use. I use Magix MOvie Edit Pro and while it is fairly powerful it is quite difficult to perform some really basic tasks oh and some text boxes pop up in German which is quite annoying.
I do like Magix but I couldn't recommend it to friends who don't want to spend a lot of time learning how to use it.

    What would you all recommend?

You can try running the free Windows Movie Maker - Movie Maker - Microsoft Windows - that's a windows 7 version but should run on Win 8 no problem.

I've got Adobe Premiere elements 11 (cut down version of the full Premiere but less than a 10th the cost) for Heather for Christmas: Adobe Premiere Elements 11 (PC/Mac) - that's the UK Amazon link. Haven't tried it yet though so can't tell you, the reviews on Amazon all seem to rubbish it, but they all seem to be Apple users as the reviews by techlabs and the like say it's the best version for Windows so far.

Also going to be upgrading to Photoshop 6 before the end of the year, which now does video editing will let you know how that goes.

Oooh sorry for the late reply, I've never use Movie Maker but a couple of friends said they wanted something a bit more functional.

Guys that know what they are doing have recommended Adobe but have said for an absolute beginner it may not be the best.

One friend is going with Serif Movie Plus X6- HD Video Editing Software – MoviePlus X6 from Serif so I will let you know how he likes it.

Not sure what the other guy is going with but I have managed to have a quick play with some 60FPS GoPro footage and the quality is amazing for the size of the camera.

The Elements version of Adobe Premiere is from my understanding pretty easy, but limited in it's edits, however a very good starting tool. I've not used the full version for about 5 or 6 years, hopefully getting back into video editing next year.
