Yeah it is pretty annoying but quite a few stores do a price match Guarantee which is nice, some even pay back a tiny bit more than the difference. Supercheap Auto have their own system that if a member buys something that goes on sale they get the difference as in store credit which is pretty cool.

I'm pretty good at finding the best price for things I buy, if it's something electrical I skip about the first three pages of Google results as it's just big retailers and grey imports, the better Aus stock deals are usually further down the list. I find quite a few that I don't post on here just in case I end up purchasing

Totally agree. I do a lot of research before buying a big ticket item and then try not to look at similar stores after I've bought something just in case the price is now cheaper.

When I've purchased something and then the store I purchased from has a sale a few days later and there's a big difference in price I have returned it giving a few different reasons, then re-purchased at a different store. I don't like doing this but it's about saving money and we have to do that! I only ever do it to the same store not if another company has a sale.

Haha that's pretty cheeky, but it's a good idea. I have sold things second hand for more that I paid new because people don't scan the Google search results well.

I've used things like I got this as a gift for someone and turns out they already had it. Was a bit hard to persuade the shop assistant at JB Hi-Fi on that one for a $700 camera! I had to explain why it was open, I said "I opened it to charge the battery as I knew my mate loved to use things right out of the box" they accepted it.

This actually happens to me already and learned from it. as a consumer be wise. Look for the product you want from other stores and compare its price.
