I've had a few people ask about how to access their BIOS after upgrading to Windows 8.1 as it's no longer the same as Windows 8.
I've spent the last day and a bit playing around and still haven't been able to come up with an answer. Every forum just points to the Windows 8 option.
I've tried the old way of using Run and:
but that now just brings the same useless restart options.
C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -r -o -f -t 00
I can get info about my BIOS from command prompt: using:
wmic bios get /format:list
I can enter my BIOS in Windows 8.1 by pressing F2 at start up, but it might be worth a try using the common ones
Often worth trying all the F keys, does mean starting your computer 12 times though.
If you do find a way to access the Windows 8.1 BIOS please let us know. Be great if Microsoft can just add the Advanced Re-start option they used to have!
