    Windows 8.1 BIOS access Motherboards

I've had a few people ask about how to access their BIOS after upgrading to Windows 8.1 as it's no longer the same as Windows 8.

I've spent the last day and a bit playing around and still haven't been able to come up with an answer. Every forum just points to the Windows 8 option.

I've tried the old way of using Run and:
    Code:
    C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -r -o -f -t 00
but that now just brings the same useless restart options.

I can get info about my BIOS from command prompt: using:
    Code:
    wmic bios get /format:list
    ---

I can enter my BIOS in Windows 8.1 by pressing F2 at start up, but it might be worth a try using the common ones

    ESC
    DEL
    F1
    F2
    F10
    F12
    CTRL+ALT+ENTER

Often worth trying all the F keys, does mean starting your computer 12 times though.

If you do find a way to access the Windows 8.1 BIOS please let us know. Be great if Microsoft can just add the Advanced Re-start option they used to have!

here's a youtube video for ACER. Mine doesn't have the UEFI option on the restart. My computer's been restarted more times in the past 24 hours than it has in the past 14 months trying to sort this. I doubt I turn it off on a monthly basis any more.

Acer: Windows 8.1 - Accessing the UEFI (BIOS) Setup

This video will show you how to access the UEFI (BIOS) setup from within Windows 8.1.

Yup this is a big problem for me, running a Fujitsu S762 and have no access to my BIOS which is a massive pain as I can't change my boot sequence or turn Intel Rapid start back on so I've just removed the driver, hahaha!

If you go to Update and Recovery and then Advanced Startup and hit the Restart Now Icon do you get another menu or will your computer just reboot?
That was how I had to access the BIOS previously but it just reboots now and no menu is given.

My computer just does the re-strart and it starts back at the screens in the Acer video, but when you get to the "Advanced Options" there's no UEFI Firmware or anything about BIOS. It's very weird.

Can you roll back to Windows 8 and update to the latest BIOS version? Might work.

I'm not sure, Fujitsu suck with drivers, I have just jumped on the US site as it is the best by far and downloaded an updated BIOS version but am yet to see if it's later than mine, there are no updated BIOS versions on the local Fujitsu site and no drivers that say they are for 8.1, it's really confusing.

I've just downloaded 384mb of updates, going to do a restart and see if it takes care of the BIOS issues.
