Australian Average Weekly Earnings per State, plus private and public sector earnings.

Thanks to ABC Diamond and Australian Bureau of Statistics, what really surprised me was public sector pay being higher than private sector, especially with mining and the like being included in private, I thought it'd be due to part time workers in private that'd bring earnings down, however it's only looking at full time employees.

The last records I can find for number in work in Australia: 7,953,000. Of which 1,891,300 public sector employees and 6,061,700 private sector.

Of the public sector there were 248,500 employees in Commonwealth government, 1,450,200 in state government and 192,500 in local government. - I'm hoping this includes, teachers, nurses etc. if not and they really mean government then there's a lot employed by public sector!
