Very nice indeed! I've used the ones that come with Sandisk, however only ever been trying to recover photos from mistaken format.
That is some very nice free data recovery software!
Not sure if this is the sort of thing the site owner wants but I have been struggling to find a decent data recovery program after a couple of my memory cards have been corrupted or accidentally formatted.
I was happy to pay for a useful piece of software but most only seem to recover pics and video formats, Recuva seems to find everything, as I type this it is restoring a 32Gb card from my phone.
Recuva Free is a fully functioning recovery program unlike many others that will say they are freeware and then ask for payment after scanning your corrupted data. Recuva seems quite easy to use, it does what it says it will and it does it at no cost, PERFECT!
Accidentally deleted an important file? Lost something important when your computer crashed? No problem! Recuva recovers files deleted from your Windows computer, Recycle Bin, digital camera card, or MP3 player. And it's free!

Yep, I've used recuva a few times over the years... its really good.
I actually used Recuva again last week I had another card that had been formatted or corrupted somehow and I stupidly saved new files to the card as it showed up blank. I had previously tried Card Recovery software that only found around ten photos and some were corrupted showing only parts of the image, when I used Recuva it recovered every original picture and around a Gig of video.
I'm not sure how it works but it works really well, I think I'll purchase the paid version just to say thanks to the software makers.
Will be trying this today, a card in a canon ixus has become corrupt and lost about 10 photos, hopefully it can get something out of it.
went to download it but because of the GoDaddy DNS problems: GoDaddy is Down, Anonymous Claims Responsibility their website is down (as are 5 of mine!), may have to try tomorrow. I just tried card recovery: Memory Card Recovery Software to Recover Lost Photos - CardRecovery, but it doesn't seem to get everything that's lost.
Yeah that isn't great software at all, it seems nice and simple but from memory it will only find pictures, videos and possibly music.
Hope you tried the trial version before paying for it.
I bought it years ago when it was only $10US. It found the two files that I was missing, the card became more corrupt over time but everything else had been backed up already. Recuva's website is back up now so will give it a go and see how it goes.
I don't do a lot of video or have much in the way of sound files on memory cards so that's why I got Memory Card Recovery. I should also have the Sandisk software somewhere too.
Actually if you have a problem with Recuva you have to set it to deep scan but make sure you don't scan every drive or you will be waiting forever.
TestDisk (Win/OS X/Linux, Free): If you're not afraid of the command line, TestDisk is an open source utility that can run against almost any platform or partition type. It does a great job of recovering data quickly, and won't do unnecessary writes against the drive you're trying to recover from.
