I know there's a few problems with Firefox in Windows 8 and am waiting for an update, today I get a Firefox window show up saying there's a new update for Windows 8... which I've been expecting as I keep getting random black bars in FF since the windows 8 update. I've checked FF's website numerous times for a fix and today I thought wonderful the update is finally available and being the cautious person I am I looked at the URL before continuing and the URL was this:
and not mozilla!
The real Firefox site is: mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
Make sure you pay attention for junk websites like "update-browser.org"!
The message on update-browser.org says:
