Described by The New York Times ‘as if lifted straight from a Degas painting’, The Bolshoi Ballet’s Lost Illusions is a new ballet by Alexei Ratmansky, with dramaturgy reviewed by César Award-winning French director Guillaume Gallienne, based on the Balzac novel. This stylised adaptation of the novel for the stage, blends thwarted love, ambition and disillusionment with 19th century Paris as a backdrop.
This acclaimed performance has been captured live in HD from Moscow and will screen in cinemas concurrent with the live season.
