NSW Greenslip Calculator, Find the Best Price For Your Greenslip.

I just had to renew the Registration on my car and spent a while entering details on different companies sites trying to find the best deal when I came across the Government's site which compares all the major Greenslip providers prices-
Motor Accidents Authority - Green Slip Price Guide Form

I ended up going with the NRMA which was considerably cheaper than the others, I have previously had issues with the Suncorp group so I was ecstatic I didn't have to deal with them again.

By answering the questions in each of these steps, you will find an estimate of Green Slip prices for all currently licensed Green Slip insurers for the most common vehicle types and circumstances. Each insurer determines its own pricing based on some or all of the questions included in the Green Slip Calculator so you will need to answer every question correctly to obtain accurate prices.

Thanks for this, any suggestions for a mechanic in Sydney?

When using the tool it doesn't sort it by the best price as QBE gave me the best price saving me $20!

Sorry, no idea, best thing you can do is give any mechanic as much info as possible you may think you sound like an idiot trying to replicate a noise your car makes but giving a mechanic details on what a problem sounds like and where it's coming from can save them a lot a lot of time which saves you money(if they are honest).

The worst thing you can do is bounce around from one mechanic to the next, that always costs a fortune.

yeah a great tip this, before seeing this post I had no idea they did it and I'm real impressed that the NSW government offers a tool for comparison saves ringing up heaps of companies to get quotes!

Now if NSW could just do the same for electricity and gas that'd be good!
